My mind has been everywhere lately. Some days I feel scattered, weighed down by thoughts I can’t seem to sort through, and other days I feel like I’m just holding on by a thread. Anxiety especially has been giving me a time—it creeps in, races my thoughts, making even small things feel heavy.Still, I wanted to show up today. Even if I don’t have the most encouraging words, I’m learning that staying present..staying active is part of the healing in itself.
The truth is, I don’t have a perfectly polished word of inspiration right now. What I do have is honesty: the healing process is gritty, raw, and at times deeply painful. It’s not the kind of journey that always feels empowering in the moment. Healing asks you to face memories you’d rather forget. It asks you to sit in silence when all you want to do is run. It demands patience when you crave quick relief. It’s hard. Really hard.
But here’s what I have to keep reminding myself: hard doesn’t mean impossible. Even on the roughest days, I know that growth is taking root. Just because it doesn’t feel glamorous doesn’t mean it’s not powerful. Healing often looks like small, quiet victories…the choice to get up when you’d rather stay down, the decision to breathe through the storm instead of letting it consume you, the courage to whisper to yourself, “I will get through this.”
I may not have an encouraging word for anyone else right now, but I do have a promise to myself: I am determined to rise. I refuse to let pain define me or keep me stuck. I believe that grit will turn into grace, and brokenness into beauty, one step at a time.
So if you’re walking through your own season of grit, I want you to know you’re not alone. Healing doesn’t have to look perfect, and it doesn’t have to be fast. Showing up…even in the smallest ways…matters. Sometimes staying in the fight is encouragement enough.
The Rose may bend under the storm, but it will not break. 🌹
